Attendance
Attendance marked in one tap, visible to parents the same morning
An attendance management system records daily student and staff attendance and makes it visible to everyone who needs it. In Pupil ERP a teacher marks a whole class in one tap from the teacher app, parents see their child’s attendance in the parent app the same morning, and the office gets attendance history without collecting registers.
One tap, from the phone the teacher already has
The teacher app opens on the class list with everyone marked present. The teacher taps the few who are absent and submits. That is the whole interaction, and it takes about fifteen seconds — which is the only reason daily attendance actually gets marked every day.
Systems that require a desktop, a login and a five-minute form get used for a fortnight and then abandoned. Attendance only works if it is faster than a paper register.
Parents find out the same morning, not at term end
When attendance is submitted it is immediately visible to parents in the app. An absence a parent did not know about surfaces the same day, which is when it is still useful.
Attendance reminders go out automatically if a class has not been marked, so gaps get caught on the day rather than discovered at the end of the month.
Leave requests instead of phone calls
Parents request leave for a student from the app with a reason and dates attached. The request goes to the teacher or the office for approval, and once approved those days are reflected in the attendance record rather than counted as unexplained absence.
The same flow works for staff: teachers apply for leave in the teacher app and the school approves or declines it, with everything recorded against the staff record.
- Parent-initiated student leave requests with reasons and attachments
- Teacher and staff leave applications with approval workflow
- Approved leave reflected correctly in attendance records
Staff attendance and clock-in
Staff clock in and out from the teacher app, with automatic check-out for anyone who forgets. The office gets a staff attendance record that feeds directly into salary processing rather than sitting in a separate muster roll.
History that answers questions
Attendance history is available per student, per class and per staff member across any date range. When a parent disputes a shortage before board exams, or you need to see whether a pattern of absence started before or after a change, the record is there.

FAQ
Attendance Management — questions schools ask
How does a school attendance management system work?
Teachers mark daily attendance for their class — in Pupil ERP, in one tap from the teacher app on their phone. The record is saved centrally, parents can see it immediately in the parent app, and the office gets attendance history per student, class or staff member without collecting paper registers.
Do teachers need a computer to mark attendance?
No. Attendance is marked from the teacher app on a normal Android or iOS phone. The class list opens with everyone marked present and the teacher taps only the absentees, which takes around fifteen seconds — the speed is what makes daily marking stick.
Can parents see their child’s attendance?
Yes. Attendance appears in the parent app as soon as the teacher submits it, so an unexpected absence surfaces the same morning rather than at the end of the term. Parents can also view attendance history across the year.
Can parents apply for leave through the app?
Yes. A parent submits a leave request with dates and a reason, and can attach a document such as a medical note. The school approves or declines it, and approved leave is reflected in the attendance record instead of counting as unexplained absence.
Does Pupil ERP handle staff attendance too?
Yes. Staff clock in and out from the teacher app, with automatic check-out for anyone who forgets, and staff leave runs through an approval workflow. Staff attendance feeds directly into monthly salary processing.
